If you've got your
own office, how you position your desk makes a powerful
statement.
You don't want to
have your back to the door. That's rude. People will think
you're unsociable and unapproachable.
Neither do you don't want you
desk facing the door, otherwise you'll never get any work
done. You'll attract interrupters like horse manure attracts
flies.
Put your desk
where you can have even a small amount of privacy. If someone does come to the
door you'll see them out of the side of your eye and you can
prepare to greet them.
If someone is
coming in to talk to you, get out from behind your desk and
invite them to sit at the round table.
It's good manners. |
